Jen Arron is a studio-based textile artist working primarily with fibre and photographic imagery. With a strong foundation in photography (Ryerson BFA), Jen transitioned to weaving for its inherent layered and textural visual language. Weaving entirely by hand, Jen explores identity, illuminating deep seated memories with her large-scale woven pieces that in turn reveal how our ancestors’ patterns are deeply embedded within our own. Jen’s fibre exhibitions include Contact 2017, Counsel, DesignTO 2019, and most recently Hard Twist -Entwined Sept2019-Jan2020, The Gladstone Hotel’s annual textile show. Jen is a full-time member at Akin Collective Dupont.
