When my son was about 8 months old, I felt the need to change up the days a little. But how? Up to this point, the days were blending into one another in a swirl of naps, playtime, feedings, bottles, diaper changes, etc. It felt like my husband and I were in a bit of a monotonous vortex with our son, just the 3 of us. (Don't get me wrong, we LOVE our kid, but c'mon, your ENTIRE life is broken up into 90 minute windows of time for like months on end...)
I'm wondering if this might be a universal truth for parents with an 8 month old? It just may be the perfect reason to break things up with a Family Photoshoot! I approached this shoot (below) with the intention of giving Kristen & Dan a little reprieve from the everyday.
That's the cool thing about being a photographer and a mother at the same time. There are just so many ways I can now relate to my family clients. I really feel like I bring this sense of compassion with me on every shoot.
